The module 1 of the online training within Sat4Envi is just behind us

The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on the functioning of many institutions. In the interests of mutual safety, CIK CBK PAN as the organizer of the training, decided to develop an online version of the training. The content of the training has been gathered in three thematic modules:

Module 1 – Satellite remote sensing and photointerpretation

Module 2 – Geographic Information Systems as an environment for developing and analysing spatial information

Module 3 – Practical use of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)

In each module, the participants will have access to lecture content, instructions and exercises to do on their own. At the end of each module, on-line seminars of CIK CBK PAN specialists with training participants are planned, during which it will be possible to ask bothering questions and discuss. Participation in the training was declared by 226 people working in the units of the state security sector, including public administration bodies.

On 27.07-7.08 the first training module was held, the thematic scope of which was divided into 3 lectures:

Lecture 1 - Satellite remote sensing and photointerpretation, in which the basic definitions enabling entry into the discussed topics were explained, such as: remote sensing, image acquisition process, satellite image characteristics, image processing, spectral indicators and principles of photointerpretation.

Lecture 2 - Satellite Earth Observation systems, focusing on the sources of satellite data that can be used and the key differences between them.

Wykład 3 - Applications of satellite remote sensing, presenting examples of the use of satellite images in the implementation of the tasks of security sector entities and international services supporting crisis management in the discussed substantive scope.

We hope that the content and formula of the training will prove helpful and valuable for all participants. 

The training is carried out as part of the project „Operating system for gathering, sharing and promotion of digital information about the environment – Sat4Envi”.
