GIS DAY 2014 WARSAW

This year Space Research Centre PAS was one of organizers of GIS Day 2014. Director of SRC PAS prof. Marek Banaszkiewicz was an honourable patron of this event and in organisation committee were Alicja Głazek and Maria Szepietowska from Crisis Information Centre SRC PAS. There were some very interesting lectures that were available for participants, including three presented by SRC by Michał Krupiński – “SPEKTROP – first Polish hyperspectral scanner”, Anna Foks-Ryznar together with Marcin Smolarkiewicz from the Main School of Fire Service – “Usage of satellite techniques in rescue and crisis management” and our friends from Astri Polska – Piotr Koza and Dominika Mucha about project realized together with Earth Observation Group SRC – “B-FIRST – example of multi criterial modelling with usage of GIS programmes and satellite data for valuation of biomass production in agricultural area”. SRC also organised a contest for participants named “GIS for rescue – usage of GIS in crisis management”.
