Upcoming COLLARIS event: Advanced UAVs exercise

The exercises will be organised by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) in cooperation with the Skaraborg Fire and Rescue Service (RS), Västra Götaland Region (RVG) and the Swedish Police. The aim of the trial is to explore the additional benefits and potential of different training methods. Live and virtual simulations will be used, focusing on crisis management practices using unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Exercise scenarios have been designed to require the deployment of multiple UAVs, thus enriching training in air traffic management, safety protocols and inter-organisational cooperation. The exercises will target multi-agency management during a crisis event.

The trial will be integrated with the annual Skaraborg Fire and Rescue Service simulation exercise, so the joint event will involve three teams of firefighters, their leaders and police and ambulance personnel. Thanks to the collaboration between COLLARIS and the exercise organisers, there will be live and virtual simulations during which participants will have to deal with the challenges related to operational use of  UAS identified in previous exercises and COLLARIS activities.
